Our Story QBT Excavating started in 2015 thanks to the inspiration and leadership of Bob Cooney (former owner of Cooney Excavating). Bob had a life altering condition and as a result received a heart transplant December 26th, 2013. As a result of his condition Bob sold his ownership in Cooney Excavating. Fast forward a few years later and visions of QBT Excavating began. Bob's Son-in-law Jayson Clarey and close family friend/ former employee Pat McEvoy (over 25 years of experience) approached Bob's wife Cathy Cooney in hopes of starting something special. Bob graciously volunteered his wisdom and guidance and QBT Excavating Services Ltd. was born. Soon after Bob's Stepson Kyle Mountenay a commerce graduate of the university of Ottawa and finance professional joined the team. Since QBT started in 2015 it has become one of the most well known and trusted excavating company's in the area; building on Bob's reputation of over 30 years in the trade. Often sites require drug & alcohol testing, this is carried out prior to the personnel starting on site. We ensure that all our operatives are fully trained and possess the relevant qualifications in relation to their skills. Our Directors are very pro-active, attending head office meetings to really understand our customer’s business, their expertise in the industry is unrivalled. We expect the highest standards from our employees, communicating with you every step of the way, we want to exceed the expectations of our customers, this starts with the Directors of our business and runs right through Avolon Civils. We ensure that our workforce is appropriately qualified and certified with CPCS, CSCS and PTS. Proof of this is sent prior to supply, ensuring you have the right person on site first time. A detailed brief is taken on every single requirement Avolon Civils is asked to supply to. Our attention to detail is key to the success of our business, therefore Avolon Civils often receives referrals and recommendations to use ourselves on site. On larger projects, all operators of machinery on site are to have a fit to work medical before starting as a minimum requirement. Avolon Civils has partnered with several organisations to carry this out prior to entering the site. Health & Safety is the at the forefront of the Construction industry.
