For over 30 years, JME has been providing the Western Pennsylvania region with construction services that are safe, cost-effective, and high in quality. From humble beginnings in 1990, Jay Martin started JME as the sole employee, using a Case backhoe and a 10-ton dump truck to perform small excavation and utility projects for the local Pittsburgh area. Fast forward 30 years, JME has a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, technology, employees, and expanded capabilities. Those capabilities include sitework, stormwater management, utility services, land stabilization, demolition, retaining wall construction, and trucking services.
Under original leadership in Jay, and new leadership in Jay’s son, Dylan, JME maintains the same hard work and grit that was inspired from the very beginning but is continuously growing and adapting to the current needs of the construction industry. JME has received countless compliments for its integrity and quality of work from other contractors and its clients. To our team, building America is not just a means to an end, but a mission that we take pride in every day. Meet Our Team
Jay Martin - Owner & President
Working with his carpenter superintendent father as a young man, Jay gained a wealth of knowledge and a love for the construction industry. Using this love and knowledge Jay decided to embark on a new journey and in 1990 he started JME as its sole employee. The company has since grown in multiple facets and gained an excellent reputation for quality work. As the owner and operator of JME, Jay is responsible for overseeing all operations in the field and the shop. Since the origins of the company, Jay has instilled a sense of purpose and integrity in the company which he still exemplifies today.
Dylan Martin - Chief Estimator & Project Manager
Dylan grew up around the construction industry and worked part-time as a laborer and estimating assistant for his father’s company. Shortly after leaving college, Dylan knew that the construction industry is what he wanted to make a career out of. He soon joined the operator’s union where he worked full-time as a heavy equipment operator for other large heavy civil contractors in the Pittsburgh region. Soon thereafter, Dylan returned to the family company and quickly took on the role of chief estimator and project manager of JME. He also took the lead on the company’s safety program and has been instrumental in the company’s growth and success.
JME uses the latest technology and equipment to perform sitework for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. New construction technology and experienced personnel make us perfect for any earthwork needs you may have.
JME has the knowledge and experience to install any stormwater management needs you may have.
JME has years of experience installing various utilities that includes storm, water, sewer, and gas.
JME is experienced and capable of demolition services which includes, residential and commercial building demolition. Capabilities also include site demolition which consists of asphalt, concrete and any other miscellaneous structures.
JME has the experience, knowledge, and equipment to handle any small or large scale land stabilization.
JME can construct any retaining wall needs you may have. We have years of experience installing small block (ex: versa-lok) and large block (ex: redi-rock) retaining walls. Included in our capabilities is installing natural rock walls that can make your landscape unique to you.
JME has very experienced drivers and a well kept fleet, which makes us a great choice to be contracted for your heavy hauling needs. We can haul various pieces of heavy equipment or construction materials for various contractors, suppliers, and equipment dealers.
JME contracts out our triaxle dump trucks for various construction materials, which includes dirt, asphalt, millings, stone, etc.
