Specialist Technical Demolition and Groundworks Ltd started as two families joined forces combining decades of experience gained through working separately within the construction, demolition, and recycling sectors. As a family-run business, we have strong moral values and have structured our day-to-day operations to reflect these, we always quote our prices fairly and accurately aiming to complete work safely and in the most efficient way. With demolition being one of the most dangerous industries to work within, our health and safety obligations are our priority. Health and Safety planning starts weeks before any work begins, as we form Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), Methodology Sequences Plans, Environmental & Ecology, and Condition Reports.
We are proud to be part of any form of conservation or heritage work allowing buildings from the past to be part of our future. On behalf of one of our clients, we took a leading role in the sympathetic soft stripping inside Martins Bank, Liverpool. Soft stripping the inside of this iconic building we removed doors, door frames, fixtures and fittings, all of which were photographed, itemised and catalogued on behalf of the heritage alliance, also, leaving many of the period features in perfect situ.
No Body Left Behind
And believe in giving people a second chance in not letting their past define their future which has proven to be successful.
Our company values are to respect each other and work as a team.
As a company our aim is to recycle up to 96% of waste material. This is achieved by operatives being fully trained in material segregation on site prior to being sent to the designated recycling container. i.e., wood, metal, hardcore, plasterboard, glass and crushed concrete.
To help keep environmental impact as low as possible, bricks are palleted ready for reuse and we also offer to crush damaged brick and concrete on site ready for reuse as backfill and crush material on the original site. This helps with our recycling initiative & commitment, saving the client the running costs and emissions in transporting wagons to and from site and the need to purchase crush material.
ST Demolition prides itself in training all our staff in safe standards to work in asbestos awareness training, SSSTS, first aid, working at heights, confined spaces, and many more.
Demolition means that we demolish or dismantle part or a whole piece of structure related to the physical integrity of the building. Structures includes buildings, sheds, towers, storage, silos, etc. The Health and Safety Executive states all demolition, dismantling and structural alteration must be carefully planned and carried out in a way that prevents danger by employing the relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Dismantling and Asset Recovery is exactly as it sounds, literally reverse construction engineering, generally clients may commission a mixed package of dismantling and demolition allowing structures to be dismantled and valuable assets to removed and recovered to be re-used or sold-off, reducing a client’s costs and benefiting future business.
Once the presence of asbestos has been confirmed, we will remove it from any part of your residential or commercial premises. We always work to the strict codes of practice set out by the HSE and with ST Demolition creating its own RAMS and Methodology plans to create a rigour safe plan of work at all times. We conduct comprehensive asbestos management surveys and asbestos refurbishment and demolition surveys, so we can help you manage the risk of asbestos and comply with legal requirements no matter the scale of your project.
A ‘heritage asset’ is shorthand for any component of our historic environment. It is defined in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)1, the Government’s planning policy statement, as “a building, monument, site, place, area or landscape identified as having a degree of significance meriting consideration in planning decisions, because of its heritage interest”. We provide specialised services for restoring Heritage and period properties, from an in-depth consultation, creating a detailed work plan, and implementing heritage preservation codes of practice, we then work through a project revealing a beautifully restored building. We leverage traditional techniques with modern technology to get the best possible results. We always coordinate with local authorities to ensure compliance with preservation standards.
We provide the full range of groundwork services including complex foundation construction, drainage/services installation, and site preparation. We have a team of experienced groundworkers who are committed to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Once a pre-demolition survey has been completed and any hazardous materials have been removed, we can then begin the internal soft strip demolition. This involves the removal of all non-structural elements of the building, such as fixtures, fittings, and finishes. We take care to ensure that all work is carried out safely and efficiently, and that all waste materials are disposed of responsibly.
Land remediation aims to restore the land to an acceptable condition for its intended use. This may involve the removal of contaminated soil or groundwater, or the treatment of contaminated materials. We have a team of experienced environmental consultants who can help you to develop a remediation plan that meets your specific needs.
